DANCE BHANGRA
An award winning Bhangra dance academy offering bespoke traditional Bhangra services both nationally and internationally, has grown as a business and the founder, Ridaa Husain, approached me (having initially worked with me for poster and business card designs) requesting a website to launch her brand and service offerings.
I've seen how her classes have grown and her dance services being expanded so I was delighted to work on a web project as I could see how much time and effort, including tons of skill, has gone in to getting to where she has. Ridaa explained how she valued my work ethos and was looking forward to working with me once again.
Logo
One thing Ridaa did mention from the outset was that a logo had already been created, which she already used on various prints such as flyers and t-shirts, so she felt that her brand awareness campaign was already in flight and did not want to disrupt that flow. She was however, a little concerned with the darker colours used for her existing logo.
With that then, I agreed to privide my own constructive feedback and gave suggestions on how her exisiting logo would and would not work with future design pieces such as web, social and other print media, as the initial feel was to go for clean, fresh yet vibrant looks. So I showed her how an inverted colour scheme would work on a white backdrop instead of purple and blue, and it looked amazing.
We went with this fresh, white look to ensure her website was easy on the eye and boasted clean and clear photos of her colourful events and classes.

We went with this fresh, white look to ensure her website was easy on the eye and boasted clean and clear photos of her colourful events and classes.
Website
The Dance Bhangra website comprises of neat touches using paralax background images with main sections floating seemlessly over them as you scroll. The home page also incorprates a direct feed from Ridaa's Dance Bhangra Instagram account where the user can choose to click photos to view in a larger format or load more images direct on the page. One of the cool parts of the site is the full screen promo videos that auto play on loop as soon as you enter the page, both striking to see and enjoybale to watch.
Business Card
As mentioned earlier, I had previously created a double-sided business card design for Ridaa prior to embarking on the Dance Bhangra web project. The card design was sleek and modern, using the original colours from the exisiting logo with the purple/blue background. The final product was awesome and a joy to see come to life from design to print.
